The Arboretum is giving back to help break the cycle of illiteracy & poverty in diverse communities. This July, we are partnering with Barnes & Noble and Literacy Coalition of Central Texas to break that cycle!
If you buy any book from Barnes & Noble here at The Arboretum between July 9th - 25th, The Arboretum will donate .50 cents for every book sold until we reach $5,000 back to Literacy Coalition of Central Texas.
The Literacy Coalition of Central Texas breaks the cycle of intergenerational poverty through comprehensive literacy services. More than 20% of adults in the United States are illiterate, and the Literacy Coalition of Central Texas addresses this critical issue in a multi-faceted way. By creating large-scale social impact programs and equipping other organizations with the tools they need for adult literacy programs we can support the most vulnerable community members. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, Literacy Coalition of Central Texas continues its long history of meeting students’ needs through a holistic approach, in pursuit of building a community that is 100% literate, employable, and self-sufficient.
